Find out how you can transform your garden into an auditory oasis with an outdoor speaker system.
Shop NowThere’s nothing quite like hanging out with your best mates out in your garden, with some drinks in hand and some snacks on the side. But you know what can make your garden parties even better? Some choice music!
This can be achieved conveniently with an outdoor speaker system, in other words, speakers that are designed to feel right at home in the great outdoors.
However, simply having outdoor speakers isn’t enough—you need to set them up the right way if you want to get the best out of them.
Strategically place speakers in zones where the guests are likely to gather. Aim them inward and use stands or mounts made of solid materials to lift them to a height between 5 and 6 feet. This in turn allows wide coverage all across the outdoor space.
During your party, you might want to turn the volume all the way up, but instead set the volume of your speakers at about 70% and then turn the volume up when the audio is playing to avoid loud, unexpected blasts of music that could disturb neighbours.
You want to mingle freely with your mates during your garden party, so you might want to connect wirelessly with your outdoor speaker. This way, you can control your speaker remotely, without having to hang around your speaker to change the music.
Most outdoor speakers come with built-in RGB lighting, but sometimes this might not be enough. So set up some LED lighting strips throughout your garden. String the lighting through trees, bushes, outdoor furniture and along the side of your home's exterior.
At SoundExtreme, we have a selection of outdoor speaker systems that are perfect for outdoor events. They’re waterproof and resistant to withstand everything the outdoors can throw at them—and they have incredible, crystal-clear audio too!

Outdoor speakers are waterproof and dustproof, but you should always keep your speaker away from direct heat sources such as open flames.
While it’s not necessary, you should at least clean your speaker occasionally. Simply use a damp cloth to rub the exteriors down and a toothbrush to clean hard-to-reach places but avoid using chemical cleaners.
Absolutely. If the speaker has a port for a microphone, you can use it for karaoke.
